It’s that time of the year again! eXtelevision proudly joins forces with End of Reality and PubComp once again to bring you ladies, gentlemen, and spycrabs another edition of Communities versus Pros.
But what is Communities vs Pros (CvP), you might ask?
CvP is a mix of two of the most predominant competitive Team Fortress 2 formats: 6v6 and Highlander (9v9). We invite a professional TF2 team (this time it’s Classic Mixup, yay!) to field six players with the following class restrictions: two of everything, except one demoman, one medic, and one heavy. At the same time, we reach out to the TF2 community and ask nine different communities to recommend one of their players, to fill one of the nine possible classes. There could be only one of each class at any given time; that’s why it’s aptly named highlander.
As the popularity of the series grew over time, more and more communities want to be a part of the next event, and we are only too happy to give every community a chance to play and be recognized! This time around, we have an application form so that we can manage things a little bit better. Registrations are open until December 18th!
That’s a mouthful — Who the hell are those Classic Mixup guys anyway? How come they are selected to be the pros? I was on a team once, and we capped Warpath within 7-
Classic Mixup is one of the very top North American TF2 team, they were the runner up of the ESEA Season 9 Invite League Lan playoffs. This is their second season together and they look stronger than ever with a current 9-1 record, sharing first place with Quantic Legacy (previously eMazing Gaming). The two teams have only lost to each other.
Cool story bro.
Not a question, bro. We will announce the weapon whitelist, map pool, the specific date, time, and place to watch on another post. Dear readers, I leave you these livecasts of the previous events:
